Job Description
Job purpose
This role is responsible for and manages purchasing, material requirements planning and supplier relationship management.
Main accountabilities and tasks
- Manages the order fulfillment process including purchase order entry, purchase order administration, and expediting incoming product.
- Identify and evaluate suppliers, negotiate contracts, and purchase raw materials required for production.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure reliable supply chains
- Monitor inventory levels to ensure adequate supply without overstocking, and manage reorder points.
- Analyze market trends to make cost-effective purchasing decisions and manage budgets.
- Executes the purchase order tracking process and ensures purchase orders are processed in accordance with the organization’s customer satisfaction and performance standards
- Ensures adequate inventory levels are maintained to maximize customer satisfaction and minimize cost
- Maintains close written and verbal communication with Corporate purchasing locations to ensure the local material requirements are met
- Work closely and effectively communicate with operations, quality, customer service and the sales team, as well as other team members
- Tracks changes in business needs and adjust order quantities to support business increases or decreases
- Facilitates process improvement, streamlining of costs, to increase the quality of procurement, logistics, and materials management
- Reviews weekly open purchase order report and updates and addresses discrepancies
- Assist with inventory counts when applicable
- Other operational tasks as deemed necessary
Qualifications
Work experience: 3-5 years of Buyer /Inventory Planning
Education: Bachelor’s degree or commensurate years’ experience
Other:
- Excellent and demonstrated organizational skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- High attention to detail to ensure accuracy in orders and documentation.
- Outgoing self-starter with a positive attitude who enjoys a small business environment
- Team player with focus on building organizational relationships to achieve corporate goals
- SAP, ERP experience preferred but not required
- Efficient in MS Office Products
- Strong TEAM and LEAD mentality required
