Overview
We are a small but rapidly growing Cosmetics/Skincare Contract Manufacturing company located in the Tampa Bay area. We are looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Technician in our production facility located in St. Petersburg. This significant role must have extensive knowledge or experience with filling and packaging machines. will assist operations by maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment, and optimizing all facilities and manufacturing equipment.
An excellent mechanic must have manual dexterity and pay close attention to detail. They must be able to operate a variety of filling and packaging machinery and tools while adhering to all safety procedures.
Responsibilities
· Inspect newly acquired equipment upon arrival, perform diagnostic tests to identify functioning issues.
· Develop and assemble machines or equipment in accordance with specifications.
· Read and analyze equipment instructions carefully to learn how to use and maintain them appropriately.
· Provide workers with training on how to operate equipment to prevent accidental injuries caused by pressing the wrong buttons.
· Troubleshoot equipment to identify malfunctioning problems and address them in a timely manner.
· Provide management with information about equipment faults and best maintenance strategies to optimize equipment performance.
· Observe strict safety standards throughout production activities, maintaining equipment in good working order to minimize mechanical hazards that might endanger operators and workers.
· Other responsibilities as assigned by management (e.g. Pick up supplies when necessary)
· Prevent breakdowns and malfunctions by maintaining equipment routinely in order to prevent production disruptions.
· Provide support and assistance to the maintenance and repair of the plant's machinery and mechanical systems.
· Ensures that all work performed meets required codes (OSHA, City and Federal) and is in accordance with plant policies and procedures.
· Responsible for proper care/cleaning of tools, parts, materials and work area.
· Providing assistance with fire and safety inspections, including updating inspection cards and reports. Maintain a clean pump house. Ensure emergency exit signs and lights are functioning properly and report any issues.
· Ensure supplies/parts are available for repairs when needed.
· Maintain the plant's cleanliness and safety.
· Keep logs of work and report on issues.
Requirements and skills
· Excellent critical thinking skills for mechanical troubleshooting and detecting malfunctions.
· Extensive knowledge of mechanical process as well as their components.
· Demonstrate a disciplined approach to completing tasks without procrastination.
· Excellent time management skills, able to execute word orders and demands at a good pace.
· Ability to utilize variety of hand tools and precise measuring tools.
· Comprehensive knowledge and commitment to safety and health guidelines.
· Strong organizational, prioritization, and problem-solving skills with focus on attention to detail.
· Good interpersonal relations with teammates and coworkers.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour
