What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pharmacy Billing Census Specialist position at MedScript LTC Pharmacy?
MedScript LTC Pharmacy is looking for a Billing Census Specialist to join our growing team! This person will compile, process, maintain and report census and billing records in a timely manner. Primary Duties:
- Understand batch management, posting batches, new admissions/readmits and adjudication
- Comply with operational timelines and policies and procedures
- Cooperate with other departments regarding problem solving both internal and external
- Address customer concerns and report resolution
- Courteous and professional communication with internal staff and customers
- Able to manage time sensitive processes
- Input and manage insurance information related to Medicare Part D, Medicare Part A, Medicare Part B, Commercial Plans and State Medicaid
- Complete all facility census changes timely and accurately
- Process monthly facility and private pay statements
- Ability to work overtime during month end closing if needed
- Other duties as assigned
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Indiana Pharmacy Technician License or Tech In-Training License
Preferred Experience:
- Two years working in pharmacy long term care setting
- Knowledgeable in all major insurance carrier reimbursement guidelines
- Experience with EMAR software
- General understanding of Excel and Microsoft Programs

- Intimate knowledge of federal and state pharmacy laws and guidelines
