The END Technologist II is a highly skilled and experienced technologist who will be responsible for electro-neurodiagnostic testing for all age groups, as ordered by physicians, according to established protocols and national ASET/ACNS guidelines. S/he is responsible for coordinating the day-to-day clinical operations to include resource allocation, assignment of technical staff, performing quality control data, and troubleshooting lab equipment. This position understands the clinical significance of testing performed. The END Technologist II provides support for the Chief Technologist, including participation in the education and training of END technicians/technologists, students, residents, and fellows. In addition, the END Technologist II provides management coverage when the Chief Technologist is unavailable. These functions are performed in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations and MedStar Health's philosophy, policies, procedures, and standards.
Performs Nerve Conduction Studies (NCS) on adult patients as part of ambulatory electromyography (EMG)/NCS procedures, including NCSs for carpal or cubital tunnel syndrome, cervical/lumbar radiculopathy, polyneuropathies, motor neuron disease, myopathies, and neuromuscular junction disorders. Occasional pediatric, neonatal, inpatient, and other special studies of the department if needed.
