A Day in the Life

We seek a motivated Principal Supply Chain Planner to support the Planning Tech COE with material planning and LCT (BlueYonder Luminate Control Tower). The Principal Supply Chain Planner will work to enhance our planning tools, to further leverage our Blue Yonder tool, ensuring we are identifying, initiating, and executing improvement projects across our entire global supply chain.

As the Principal Supply Chain Planner you will:

  • Leverage our capabilities further by leading BlueYonder material planning and Luminate Control Tower (LCT) continuous improvement, issue resolution, and triage.
  • Further drive towards zero touch planning.
  • Monitor key Global Supply Chain and operations planning performance indicators and cost-to-serve performance data and coordinate cross-functional work teams to increase the effectiveness of supply chain initiatives.
  • Support the SC planning technology roadmap.
  • Design & deploy cross functional technology improvements.
  • Identify and complete complex system technical work.
  • Support tool enhancements.
  • Provide business requirements, create test cases, and complete testing as needed.
  • Ensure successful patch deployment.
  • Analyze, develop, and implement long-term supply chain strategies and networks that address capacity issues and production location decisions supporting business goals.
  • Support business execution of new programs and initiatives.


Must Have:

  • Bachelor's degree plus a minimum of 7 years of relevant Supply Chain systems implementation, design, or support or an advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant Supply Chain systems implementation, design, or support.
  • Relevant experience implementing or supporting Blue Yonder, JDA, Manugistics or predecessors


Nice to Have

  • Previous hands-on knowledge of materials planning, operations scheduling, or master data planning.
  • Mastery of Supply Chain system implementation experience (Blue Yonder, SAP, ECC, APO, Manugistics, BI, Tableau, etc.)
  • Superior project management skills, including leading and running cross-functional teams and programs. Detailed knowledge of PMI processes and PMP accreditation.
  • Excellent communication, organizational skills, change management, stakeholder engagement, and influence experience.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$104,800.00 - $157,200.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20 hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to all regular employees: Incentive plans, 401(k) plan plus employer contribution and match, Short-term disability, Paid time off, Paid holidays, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, Employee Assistance Program, Non-qualified Retirement Plan Supplement (subject to IRS earning minimums), and Capital Accumulation Plan (available to Vice Presidents and above, or subject to IRS earning minimums).

Regular employees are those who are not temporary, such as interns. Temporary employees are eligible for paid sick time, as required under applicable state law, and the Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Please note some of the above benefits may not apply to workers in Puerto Rico.
