What are the responsibilities and job description for the Supply Chain Planner/Buyer position at Nilfisk, Inc.?

Main Responsibility:
The main responsibility of this role is to plan, coordinate, and schedule the purchasing, production, and inventory control (P&IC) of materials required for manufacturing or sale. This includes executing outsourcing projects and managing relationships with suppliers to meet the company's business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Purchasing and Order Management (50%)
Plan and issue purchase orders for assigned materials, ensuring accurate delivery timelines and system updates.
Monitor supply chain orders, reschedule delays, and maintain accurate data in the planning system.
Utilize ERP systems to ensure material availability for production.
Supplier Relationship Management (20%)
Establish and maintain professional relationships with internal and external suppliers.
Communicate with suppliers to ensure alignment on Minimum Order Quantities (MOQ), lead times, and performance metrics.
Provide suppliers with necessary reports and evaluate their past performance.
Procurement Activities (15%)
Prepare requests for proposals (RFPs), solicit quotations, and negotiate terms with suppliers.
Select suppliers based on the total cost of ownership, considering quality, price, and delivery.
Assist in managing supplier risk, inventory, and claims.
Collaboration and Strategy Execution (10%)
Work with Supply Chain Managers and Procurement on projects to improve delivery performance, cost savings, and lead-time reductions.
Execute strategies to optimize total cost regarding pricing, logistics, inventory, and product lifecycle.
Other Duties (5%)
Perform other tasks as assigned.
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college/university, or 2-3 years of related experience/training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Qualifications & Skills:
Knowledge of Master Scheduling, Planning, and Purchasing practices.
Strong supplier management and communication skills.
Ability to organize and manage multiple projects.
Familiarity with manufacturing environments and engineering drawings.
Strategic planning and change management capabilities.
Ability to work cross-functionally and interact at various organizational levels.
Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Experience with ERP.
Certifications:
APICS certifications are considered a plus.
Additional Requirements: Some travel, including international, may be required.
