TITLE:
Audio Visual Booth Operator (PER DIEM)
REPORTS TO:
Director of Information Services and/or Director of Facilities
QUALIFICATIONS:
1-2 years experience required in operation of lighting, audio and video controls.
Effective communication and customer service skills.
Must be able to follow directions, be punctual, and display courteous and professional behavior at all times.
JOB GOAL:
As a Booth Operator, you are expected to understand and apply basic audio, visual, and lighting skills.
Events commonly involve customers renting the space for various events, presentations, and shows.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Understand basic instructions and operations of lighting, audio, and video control systems within the space.
Assess customer needs and prepare the space for various events.
Communicate effectively with customers, supervisors, and peers.
Maintain all equipment to ensure proper operation at all times.
Advice of needed materials and peripherals for use within the space.
Maintain a high level of security within the space to ensure proper operation of equipment.
Set-up auditorium equipment prior to and during events to assure proper functionality.
Open space for users and secure it at the completion of the event.
Tech will provide lighting boards and sound as needed for rehearsals, lectures and performances.
Assist in hiring student support technicians
Supervise student support technicians.
Schedule student support technicians in accordance with the State and Federal Child Labor Laws.
HOURS OF OPERATION:
Hours are intermittent based on building/facility rentals and school events as required.
This is a PART TIME / PER DIEM position.
Most events happen during the weekend with an occasional weekday evenings event.
Booth Operators are expected to be available at least half-hour before and after every event to set up and break down.
ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Candidates will require the ability to walk, sit, stand, talk, hear and drive; use of hands to finger, handle, feel objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms and physically connect system components; the ability to operate a keyboard at efficient speeds; must be able to lift and carry objects up to 45 pounds (computer equipment, stage lighting, microphones) close up vision and the ability to adjust focus across a presentation audience; intellectual and mental acuity to perform conceptual and detail technical work; contacts involve a broad spectrum of issues and must be dealt with appropriate to their meaning and circumstances; administrative and technical work related to audio visual systems, office automation and other technologies.
SUPERVISION AND EVALUATION:
Candidates should be self motivated; possessing the ability to assess need and prioritize responsibilities in a professional environment; reporting to and evaluated by the Director of Information Services for maintenance needs, the Medway Facilities Office for scheduled rental of the space and the Building Principal for school use.
