Production Manager

SUMMARY

The Production Manager ensures that all areas of the pharmacy are running efficiently, that all policies are being followed and all production staff are meeting expectations

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Set clear performance expectations, conduct regular evaluations, and foster a collaborative and positive work environment
• Provide strong leadership, mentorship, and direction to the pharmacy team
• Manage the pharmacy budget, control costs, and ensure the efficient use of resources while maintaining the highest quality of service
• Responsible for meeting On time route release metrics
• Able to monitor workflow dashboard and utilize scheduled staff to complete tasks
• Assess staffing needs by monitoring metrics and forecasting business changes
• Ensure all new staff are trained appropriately
• Enlist HR with assistance on hiring and recruiting
• Ensure all technician staff have state required licensure.
• Work in conjunction with the Pharmacist-in-Charge with regards to overall pharmacy operations
• Audit departmental expectations and develop plans of correction when not being met
• Manage internal flow of communication, training on new technology, new policies and procedures and new work flows
• Review daily and hourly reports to determine if workflow adjustments or staffing are necessary
• Maintain clear communication with and provide direction to Shift Supervisors.

The regular work schedule for this position is approximately 40 hours per week (Monday-Friday) and may require additional days/hours as necessary. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include: Close vision, Distance vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception, Ability to adjust focus and Ability to match or detect differences between colors, including shades of color and brightness. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, bend, and walk.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education & Experience: High School Diploma or GED; State license to handle medication, Management experience required, preferred to be from a Production setting. Pharmacy Technician Certification; or 3 years of pharmacy experience; or an equivalent mix of education and experience. CPHT certification preferred.

Computer Skills: Intermediate proficiency with Pharmacy and medication distribution software. Experience with long term care pharmacy software preferred.

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as medication documentation, business correspondence and procedure manuals; ability to write routine reports and business correspondence; ability to speak effectively, both in person and by telephone, to customers or employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs; ability to understand and interpret statistical reports, data charts and graphs.
