As a strategic partner, the Human Resource Business Partner (HRBP) aligns business objectives with associates and management in designated business units with minimum supervision. The HRBP serves as a consultant to management and associates on Human Resource related issues, as well as an integrator to the Medxcel HR teams to ensure connections for seamless, effective HR services. This consultation and integration will include complex/sensitive employee relations, job definition, performance management, change management, and strong project planning skills. Communicating needs proactively with HR and designated business units, the HRBP seeks to partner in the development of integrated solutions. The HRBP must effectively communicate and present to high level leadership. The HRBP maintains an effective level of business literacy about the business units’ financial position, its mid-range plans, its culture, and its competition.
This position is Remote-Home Office.
Responsibilities
Business Unit Partner
- Manage and resolve complex associate relations issues.
- Maintain in depth knowledge of legal and contractual requirements related to day-to-day management of associates, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance; partnering with legal and other departments when required.
- Provide guidance to leaders and associates to improve work relationships, build morale, increase productivity and retention.
- Consult with leadership providing HR guidance and interpretation on policies and procedures.
- Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to leadership (coaching, counseling, corrective actions, career development).
- Provide guidance and input on business unit restructures and workforce planning.
- Partner with the leadership team to assure the cultural alignment.
- Advises management team in defining and identifying key measures and performance targets.
- Develops solutions to critical business issues and presents alternatives to management.
- Identify workforce training needs for the business unit by partnering with Organizational Development team.
- Develop and maintain job descriptions.
- Support succession planning initiatives across business units.
Shared Service Partnership
- Partner with key stakeholders to develop solutions, programs, and policies.
- Partner with HR key stakeholders including Organizational Development, HR Operations, Talent Acquisition, and Training, Compensation and Payroll to deliver aligned HR practices to drive specific business unit focused solutions.
- Partner with local HR and leadership to ensure new hire orientation and onboarding meets health system requirements.
Project Management
- Responsible for facilitating process innovation, strategic planning, competitive analysis, and other HR initiatives.
- Act as the HR Project Lead to ensure successful implementation of new business.
- Responsible for completion of required project deliverables.
- Leads multiple, cross-functional and/or cross-departmental projects and initiatives.
- Communicates project status to sponsors and stakeholders.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, business, or a related field -required.
- Master’s degree -preferred.
License/Certification
- PHR and/or SPHR -preferred.
Experience
- 8 years’ experience in an HR environment, 3-5 years being at a professional level -required.
- Experience in managing projects on a day-to-day basis -required.
- Experience interfacing with customers at all level is -required.
- Experience supporting multiple sites and leaders -required.
- Experience working in a matrix reporting structure -preferred.
- Experience in hospital healthcare -preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines including compensation practices, recruitment, development, engagement, benefits, organizational diagnosis, employee and union relations, diversity, performance management, federal and state employment laws.
- Demonstrated success leading implementation of HR projects and other change initiatives.
- Proven ability to be a business partner and driver of change.
- Ability to effectively envision, develop, and implement new strategies to address competitive, complex business issues.
- Ability to develop strong trusting relationships to gain support and achieve results, while managing conflicting priorities.
