Job Description
This classification is responsible for designing coordinating and implementing a variety of community health programs and providing expertise and education to the public regarding health issues. Responsibilities may include executing and evaluating work plans and wellness programs aimed at target populations; identifying health problems and analyzing best practices to plan and implement health programs; conducting needs assessments to draw plans and communicating health initiatives and services to public.Job Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Executes and evaluates work plans and wellness programs aimed at target populations; conducts needs assessments; surveys; and interviews to evaluate health needs; identifies health problems and analyzes best practices to plan and implement health programs; and ensures that program operations comply with applicable regulations; policies; and procedures.
Manages program budgets and grant funds; to include assessing program requirements; monitoring and approving expenditures; researching and analyzing financial and operational data; preparing cost estimates; ensuring compliance with budgetary requirements; and making purchase- and budget-related recommendations.
Researches; compiles; reviews; and analyzes information to prepare and maintain reports; records; files; grant applications; and related documentation; makes recommendations; and ensures informational accuracy and compliance with applicable regulations; policies; and procedures.
Coordinates with local hospitals; public health partners; and other internal and external staff; departments; and/or agencies; serves on committees; and attends meetings to promote and plan health initiatives and services offered to the public; establish partnerships; provide outreach; conduct presentations; advocate for public health policies and/or facilitate related departmental operations.
Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
Education and/or Experience
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in Public Health or related field and one year related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Master’s degree in a health related field preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Positions in this class typically require: reaching; standing; walking; fingering; grasping; feeling; talking; hearing; seeing and repetitive motions.
Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift; carry; push; pull or otherwise move objects; including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Walking and standing are required only occasionally.
Incumbents may be exposed to extreme temperatures and expected to travel.
