Key Responsibilities
Cost Estimation
- Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documents to prepare detailed cost estimates.
- Calculate material, labor, and overhead costs to determine project budgets.
Bid Preparation
- Prepare and submit competitive bids for construction projects.
- Collaborate with project managers to develop bid strategies and pricing.
Market Research
- Conduct research on market trends, material costs, and labor rates to ensure accurate estimates.
- Maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to gather pricing information.
- Work with Sales Team to determine appropriate projects to bid.
- Follow public bid results to track critical data and trends for future bids.
Collaboration
- Work closely with architects, engineers, and project managers to clarify project requirements and specifications.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits to assess project scope.
Documentation
- Maintain detailed records of estimates, bids, and project changes.
- Prepare reports and presentations for management and stakeholders.
Risk Assessment
- Identify potential risks and challenges in project execution and incorporate them into estimates.
- Recommend strategies to mitigate risks and manage costs effectively.
Continuous Improvement
- Stay updated on industry standards, construction methods, and estimating software.

Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience in construction estimating or a similar role.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Sage, ProEst).
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills.
Working Conditions
- Office environment with occasional site visits.
- May require extended hours during peak bidding periods.
