POSITION SUMMARY
The C-Store Food Service Team Member is responsible for ordering, producing, merchandising and selling ready to eat food and dispensed beverages in a safe and clean, fun and friendly environment. Additionally, this position is responsible for cleaning and maintaining food service and dispensed beverage equipment, merchandising food and beverages in a safe and appealing way, suggestive selling and sampling products.
CORE FUNCTIONS OF POSITION
- Provides friendly customer service.
- Welcomes customers to the store and assists customers with questions.
- Develops personal ongoing relationships with customers.
- Addresses customer concerns and resolves issues when a customer is not satisfied with the service or product received.
- Deliver outstanding products and customer service, while developing customer loyalty. Promptly and professionally address customer comments.
- Assists in maintaining and auditing food and non-food inventory levels in accordance with company guidelines
- Responsible for preparing and merchandising of all ready to eat food and dispensed beverages in the food service department.
- Responsible for ensuring that all dispensed beverages are fully stocked and merchandised.
- Responsible for making sure that all signage is appropriately placed for ready to eat food and dispensed beverages
- Responsible for cleaning all equipment used in producing and merchandising ready to eat food and dispensed beverages
- Responsible for stocking all supplies and condiments for ready to eat food and dispensed beverages
- Responsible for maintaining focus items and cross merchandising items within the food service department
- Plans daily stocking needs for ready to eat food and dispensed beverages
- Tracks daily production of ready to eat food and dispensed beverages
- Responsible for promoting food service department sales (ready to eat & dispensed beverage) with sample products every day (in person & self service)
- Responsible for logging daily waste and collaborating with leadership to optimize sales and profit
- Assists with payment using POS system. Accurately rings up all sales and able to process cash and credit card purchases, when necessary
- Communicates and works cooperatively with leadership and co-workers to maintain food service standards.
- Ensures work environment is clean: Keeps prep counter and floor free of food and garbage, washes dirty dishes, and performs daily cleaning duties.
- Follow DMG's guidelines, including food handling and safety procedures.
- Always makes the best use of time and resources; seeks ways to reduce costs.
- Prevents loss by knowing and complying with DMG's safety rules.
- Identifies the sequence of tasks and the resources needed to achieve a goal and prioritizes key action steps.
- Anticipates the impacts and risks of decisions and actions.
- Contributes to overall team readiness.
- Displays signage to ensure all products are properly identified and priced.
- Assists in setting, tracking, reporting, and achieving projected sales goals and controlling food costs.
- Completes opening and closing duties.
- Assists with receiving and storing food items and supplies.
- Makes appropriate decisions in a fast-paced environment Performs all other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS

- Ability to communicate and interact professionally and effectively with customers and all team members.
- Must be able to follow menu specifications, recipes, read tickets, and maintain an organized work area.
- Must be able to use a computer for timekeeping and cash handling purposes.
- Possesses excellent time management skills and ability to handle multiple tasks.
- Good oral and written communication.
- Proper training and knowledge of the following equipment/procedures: cash register, box cutter, meat slicer, and proper lifting techniques.
- Complete understanding of all safety requirements and company safety policies.
- Complete knowledge of all company security regulations and federal/state/local regulations relating to food safety.
- Effective mathematical skills for proper money handling.
- Ability to obtain any applicable certifications/licensures as required.
- Commitment to excellence in customer service and other DMG values.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Customer-service experience preferred.
- Prior experience with cash register and/or cash handling highly recommended.
- Must be at least 18 years old to operate the meat slicer.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Lifting and carrying up to 60 pounds on an occasional basis.
- Frequent stopping, bending, squatting, kneeling, walking, reaching turning, climbing stairs/ladders.
- Must be able to work at a fast pace.
- Regularly exposed to a cool, damp environment (coolers) as well as extreme hot temperatures.
