The Quality Systems Engineer provides expertise in the quality assurance planning for all departments, customers and suppliers. Supports the Quality Management System per AS9100 to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and audit results timely execution. Ensures organization preparedness for regulatory and customer audits; ensure quality documents are up to date with Meggitt Global Quality management System. Perform internal Audits. Identifies and assures all quality assurance requirements from product development through customer service are implemented, using systems, standards and regulations. Develops and manages quality solutions that improve business results by proactively improving and maintaining the Quality Management System its processes and key performance indicator (KPI) results.
* Ensure compliance to AS9100 requirements and Meggitt Global Quality management System.
* Execute internal Audits per AS9100 and all applicable internal Meggitt audits as necessary.
o Schedule all internal audits to be conducted annually and track progress
o Function as lead internal auditor when needed
o Provide applicable training to others members within the organization for internal audits
o Schedule all applicable needed trainings to establish compliance to AS9100 Rev. D
* Provide Quality Business Analysis support for design of cascading Quality Visual Boards for lean daily management execution
o Perform data mining activities, developing solutions to manage data utilizing Excel, Access and/or newly developed software system(s)
o Support Site Quality KPI Reporting as it pertains to Quality Systems function
o Support Quality DLA updates and reporting
* Provide Quality Clinic (QC) support by helping developing QC Procedure in addition to coordinating and facilitating Relentless Root Cause Corrective Action (RRCCA)
* Ensure timeliness and effectiveness of CARs execution per AS9100 and Customer requirements.
o Review Corrective Action / Preventive Action (CAPA) records at different phases of the process to assess CAPA activities, documentation and to assure compliance with CAPA procedure and Internal/Customer/FAA Regulations.
o Support and guide CAPA owners throughout the CAPA process as needed.
o Interface with CAPA board members and execute regular CAPA board meetings.
o Develop master schedule for Internal/Customer/Regulatory Audits and ensure that audits are being performed per the approved schedule.
o Manage Internal Audit Program and maintain Internal Audit Log.
o May lead, support and train other auditors in the execution of internal audits.
o Maintain compliance to Meggitt's internal procedures and applicable Aerospace, Customer and regulatory requirements.
o Help facilitate closure of CAPAs and internal audits in a timely manner.
o Maintain complete and accurate CAPA and Internal Audit files and records.
o Lead efforts to continuously improve CAPA and internal audit processes.
o Develop, coordinate and ensure CAPA and internal audit trainings for relevant personnel.
o Thoroughly understand the processes and investigation techniques to effectively review the investigation, root-cause, proposed actions and effectiveness plans and to ensure that the true root-cause is addressed.
o Develop and communicate CAPA and Internal Audit metrics to management on a regular basis.
o Recognize challenges and escalate in a timely manner to resolve issues.
o Serve as a Subject Matter Expert for regulatory body audits as necessary.
Minimum Qualifications
Education Level: Bachelor's Degree
Field of Study/Area of Experience:
* 0-2 years of experience in Quality Systems per AS9100 and Process Quality Engineering experience in Government and FAA regulated manufacturing environment
Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Database management, MS Word, Excel, Internet Explorer, PowerPoint, and Outlook
* SAP familiarity and experience preferred
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities List
* knowledge of AS9100 with Lead Auditor experience
* Six Sigma green belt(SSBB) required
* Effective problem solver and knowledge of D-FMEA, P-FMEA, Control Plan, RCCA, 8D, Mistake Proofing, Change Management and Six Sigma DMAIC with lean principles
* Must have excellent analysis skills (hypothesis testing, control charts, trend analysis)
* Self-directed/Self-Starter
* Auditing experience
* Good written communication and verbal communication skills
* Ability to make oral presentations
* Ability to gather data, to compile information, and prepare reports
* Ability to research and analyze data effectively
* Demonstrated ability to provide cross-functional leadership
* Ability to work independently and prioritize duties with minimal supervision, in order to meet deadlines
* Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and web-browsers
