MELE Associates, Inc. is seeking a Nuclear Threat Device Technical Advisor candidate to support the NNSA Office of Counterterrorism and Counterproliferation, Office of Nuclear Threat Science (NA-82) in the Washington, D.C. area. NA-82 requires program management, scientific, and technical support in nuclear weapon device assessments and integration of intelligence analyses of state and non-state threats. The individual should have familiarity and working experience with a broad range of NNSA physics design laboratory technical capabilities, and missions, and their associated federal partners. Individual should have expert knowledge and experience with nuclear incident response, nuclear threat device assessment and defeat, and related national laboratory R&D programs. This is a full-time and is contingent upon Federal approval.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Draft technical correspondence and briefings regarding nuclear counterterrorism and nuclear counterproliferation projects and technical assessments
  • Review technical aspects of nuclear threat device defeat, counterterrorism, and counterproliferation projects and programs to determine performance toward meeting scientific, cost, and schedule goals
  • Draft, assess, advise, and revise the program and project plans based on the individual s knowledge, experience, and expertise in the areas of nuclear counterterrorism, nonproliferation, counterproliferation, emergency response, and nuclear security activities

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Q/TS-cleared with SCI access
  • Detail-oriented and strong communication skills
  • Experience with national laboratory R&D and DOE/NNSA programs and program management
  • Must possess a doctorate degree in a technical field such as physics or engineering
  • Have at least 15 years experience with national laboratory programs, including at least ten years experience supporting global security activities.

LOCATION: This is an On-Site position in Washington, DC and requires 25% travel.

SALARY: Salaries are determined based on several factors including external market data, internal equity, and the candidate s related knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position.
