Melmark is a nonprofit organization providing clinically-sophisticated evidence-based special education, residential, vocational, and therapeutic services for children and adults diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders, developmental and intellectual disabilities, acquired brain injuries, medical complexities, and other neurological and genetic disorders.
Program Coordinator Overview
The Program Coordinator is responsible for the operation of the program room under the direction of the Director of the Adult Day Community Program. The Program Coordinator serves as a Homeroom Instructor and also designs Program room programs, evaluates abilities, and recommends goals for each individual’s ISP. The Program Coordinator is responsible for assuring Instructors and Program Room Assistants of the program are trained in carrying out Ch.2380 regulations, as they apply to the successful operations of the program.

- Monday- Friday 8a-4p
- Starting Salary: $45,240.00 ( ) based on years of direct relevant experience
- Location: Main Campus, Meadows Flower shop
Requirements
- An associate’s degree or 60 credit hours from an accredited college or university preferred
- 4 years of work experience working directly with persons with disabilities preferred.
- A valid driver’s license and ability to meet Melmark’s Approved Driver requirements
- Must have one of the following by 1/1/19 or within 120 days of hire: Hold a Certified Employment Support Professional (CESP) credential from the Association of People Supporting Employment First (APSE); or Have been awarded a Basic Employment Services Certificate of Achievement or a Professional Certificate of Achievement in Employment Services from an Association of Community Rehabilitation Educators (ACRE) organizational member that has ACRE-approved training.
Program Coordinator Responsibilities
- Performs day-to-day administrative tasks such as maintaining information files, processing paperwork, communication, and coordinating functions, calendars and department activities. Keeps daily attendance records and communication books.
- Coordinates, supervises and participates in Program room activities that include assistance, training and support for the acquisition of functional skills, personal needs, communication and personal adjustment.
- Presents written reports clearly, concisely, timely and professionally. Responsible for maintaining 2380 paperwork requirements such as: monthly progress reports, program room checklists, ISPs and 90-day reviews. Ensures that all requirements are met for maintaining all applicable licensing and certifications.
- Develops goals that are individualized and based on choice. Ensures implementation of ISP outcomes and activities. Identifies age-appropriate, functional, and prioritized goals.
- Develops and oversees community access activities for assigned program area, and ensures all individuals have regular opportunities for community access.
- Maintains high standards for care, appearance, and dignity of each person. Assists each individual in carrying out necessary personal care, hygiene and other self-help skills.
