Hours: Nights and Weekends Required
We are seeking a dedicated Funeral Services Manager who will lead a team of professionals to provide exceptional service to families who have experienced the loss of a loved one. This role requires strong leadership skills, an ability to handle logistics and details, and a deep respect for the families we serve.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & Team Management:
Lead and manage a team to ensure smooth operations in providing funeral services. Foster a culture of care, accountability, and excellence. - Client & Family Service:
Work directly with families to ensure a positive, respectful experience during viewings, transport, and services. Serve as the main point of contact during the process. - Logistics & Operations:
Oversee and coordinate funeral transports, viewings, and services. Ensure all necessary equipment, including caskets, flowers, and vehicles, are properly handled. - Employee Scheduling & Training:
Create and manage staff schedules for funerals, transports, and after-hours needs. Conduct training sessions and provide ongoing development to ensure the team is aligned with policies and best practices. - Cosmetic and Physical Handling:
Be comfortable and trained to perform minimal cosmetic procedures (on-the-job training provided) and participate in physically demanding tasks such as lifting up to 100 lbs. - Policy Development & Improvement:
Continuously evaluate and improve operational procedures and policies to ensure the highest quality service. Update and implement policies regularly. - Administrative Tasks:
Maintain records, manage inventories, and oversee the maintenance and registration of company vehicles. Proficiently use Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook for reports and communication. - Hiring & Staff Evaluation:
Conduct interviews, hire new team members, and perform employee evaluations to support team growth and improvement. - Collaboration & Coordination:
Work closely with funeral directors, cemetery personnel, and other related parties to ensure that all aspects of funeral services are smoothly executed.
Requirements
- High School Diploma (or equivalent); College Degree preferred
- Previous management or leadership experience is strongly preferred
- Valid driver’s license and insurability to drive company vehicles
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment and lift up to 100 lbs
- Must be comfortable working in close contact with deceased loved ones
- Professional appearance and demeanor at all times
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
