Description
What You’ll Do:
1st shift, Full time (80 hours/pay period [bi-weekly])
- Assemble, clean, and sterilize patient care items and instruments for various departments.
- Follow established policies and procedures to ensure optimal safety and care outcomes for team members and patients.
- Recognize, interpret, document, and communicate critical information necessary for quality patient care and regulatory compliance.
- Interact professionally with team members, patients, and visitors.
- Respond to emergencies outside normal working hours, including internal and external disasters; participate in on-call duties as assigned.
- Demonstrate consistent and predictable attendance.
- Attend all mandatory education and in-service sessions, including team training, safety, and infection control.
- Complete mandatory health requirements.
- Operate within the hospital's Ethics and Compliance program guidelines and report any compliance variances to the appropriate channels.
- Completion of high school education or equivalent.
- Graduate of a Sterile Processing Technology certification program (preferred).
- Surgical Technologist or Licensed Practical Nurse qualifications are also welcome.
- Certified Registered Central Sterile Technician (CRCST) certification or the ability to obtain it within three (3) years of employment.
- American Heart Association’s Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within six (6) months of employment (continuous certification required).
