Licensed Practical Nurse [LPN] | Surgery (Contingent)

What You'll Do:

• Scrub Duties: Perform scrub duties efficiently, following established procedures, policies, and guidelines.
• Nursing Functions: Execute delegated nursing functions under the supervision of a Registered Nurse to support patient care.
• Collaboration: Work closely with other healthcare providers to deliver effective and efficient patient care, achieving desired outcomes.
• Instrument Handling: Assemble, clean, and sterilize patient care items and instruments across various departments.
• Documentation: Accurately document and report observations to the Registered Nurse, including recognizing and communicating significant information necessary for quality care.
• Performance Improvement: Participate in identifying clinical and operational performance improvement opportunities and contribute to activities demonstrating positive patient care outcomes.
• Health Teaching: Provide patient and family health education as delegated and observed by the Registered Nurse.
• Professional Development: Maintain accountability for your professional practice and development; stay updated with current nursing standards and hospital policies.
• Emergency Response: Be prepared to respond to emergencies outside of normal working hours.

• Attendance: Demonstrate regular and predictable attendance, attending all mandatory education and in-services (team training, safety, infection control, etc.).
• Compliance: Adhere to the hospital’s Ethics and Compliance program, reporting any compliance variances to your immediate supervisor or the appropriate channels.

What You'll Bring:

• Education: Graduate of an accredited school of licensed practical nursing program.
• Licensure: Licensed as an LPN in the State of Ohio.
• Continuing Education: Completion of twenty-four (24) contact hours of approved continuing education every two years as required by the Ohio Board of Nursing.
• Certification: Continuous certification in American Heart Association BLS.
• Experience: Ophthalmology experience is preferred but not required.
