Summary
Coordinates the admissions of patients through receiving referrals, performing readmission evaluations, and acting as a liaison between referring facilities, payers, the facility, and the Medical Director.
Responsibilities
Supervises and navigates the entire facility's bed profile to ensure beds and patients are properly placed and utilized. Responsible for the facility census and revenue goals by maintaining admission, census, and revenue metrics. Understands revenue management protocols, as it is vital to the sustainability of the facility to meet cost and budget needs.Oversees the complete operations of the admissions office by managing multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously, to ensure the success of the department.Supervises and manages the Patient Financial Services position to ensure all components of the job (insurance authorizations, and contract signings) are completed timely and correctly for an optimal operation of the admission department. Provides routine feedback and support; evaluates performance of the position and department.Supervises, manages, and coordinates all referrals, admissions to the Manor. Oversees the entire facility’s bed management process to ensure proper placement, and integration of all new patients.Networks, business develops, and fosters proper relationships with hospitals, physicians, patients, and families to ensure optimal communication and satisfaction.Works interdependently with the clinical teams, and integrates all aspects of care needed for the proper clinical care of all new patients. Oversees the review process of all potential patients, ensuring proper placement and care.Manages all financial aspects related to new patients by reviewing and assessing payor status and contracts. Collects, distributes, and coordinates with the business office to ensure all information is valid. Works with insurance companies to get the necessary approvals for any new admissions, and works with case management for ongoing authorizations.

Required Work Experience: Five (5) years' work-related experience in post-acute care. Other Information: Must maintain current knowledge of nursing home eligibility requirements, rules and regulations.
