What are the responsibilities and job description for the GME Program Coordinator - GME - Days - FT position at Memorial Hospital at Gulfport?
With oversight and direction from the Designated Institutional Official (DIO), the Program Coordinator is responsible for the operational and financial management of the accredited/non-accredited residency/fellowship training program as outlined in the Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). The position requires a comprehensive and detailed understanding of national accreditation policies and hospital policies, as well as a high degree of initiative and independent judgment.
The Program Coordinator will continually assess and direct a wide range of programmatic issues including long-range planning, recruiting trainees, developing projects, analyzing administrative workflow, maintaining databases, communicating with faculty and trainees regarding a range of issues, and managing internal and external program relations.
Required Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree Business Administration or other fields of study.
Certification: N/A
Experience: Three (3) years of office administration experience.
Skills, Knowledge, Abilities: Strong ability to manage relationships and engage a wide range of stakeholders. Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people. Ability to handle a variety of constituencies and manage multiple tasks, simultaneously, and thrive in a complex environment with multiple priorities. Demonstrated and proven critical thinking skills. Strong analytics, problem-solving and decision-making skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills to promote understanding and foster collaboration among leaders, employees and other stakeholders. Must be customer service oriented, projecting professionalism and socio-economic and cultural sensitivity. Must be computer literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Ability to manage time efficiently and meet deadlines. Ability to handle sensitive information with absolute confidentiality. Ability to make decisions independently or to escalate issues as needed.
