The Opportunity
The Memphis Grizzlies are looking for a full-time Finance & Accounting Intern who is currently enrolled in a four-year degree program at a college or University, to assist in the day-to-day accounting processes and responsibilities within the Finance Department. Under the supervision of the Assistant Controller, the Intern is responsible for a variety of functions pertaining to accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial support functions. While some of the essential functions of the Finance & Accounting Intern role are completely independent, the incumbent will be expected to work in a team environment. The ability to take direction, as needed, from supervisors is required.
In This Role You Will
- Upload and distribute invoices in digital accounts payable system in a timely and accurate manner;
- Prepare basic Balance Sheet reconciliations;
- Assist in ensuring the control environment is operating effectively;
- Document and maintain thorough and accurate supporting information for all financial transactions completed using Great Plains and/or Microsoft Excel;
- Gather data and complete various financial analyses.
- Perform general clerical duties to assist accounting teams;
- Other duties as assigned.
The Experience You Will Bring
- Enrolled Accounting major from a four-year college or university;
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills;
- Proficient using MS Excel, Word and Outlook;
- Ability to create Excel spreadsheets and analysis;
- Ability to work full-time in person, beginning May 12, 2025 and ending August 29, 2025.
Nice to Have:
- Previous work experience in an office environment.
- Knowledge of accounting systems, preferably Microsoft Great Plains.
