Manager Materials Stores will plan, organize, manage and control the overall operations of Materials and Stores Operations functions to include Primary/Service Center Supply Operations, Heavy Equipment Operations, Fabrication Welding, Machine and Sheet Metal Operations, Erection and Maintenance of Steel Structures, Centralized Construction Tool Room and Small Engine Repair Shop, Investment Recovery/Salvage/Recycled Material Operations, Company Store, Tool Room Control Area specifications and purchases, and related activities to meet departmental goals/objectives.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Responsible for the overall operation of the Stores & Supply Operations functions including Primary/Service Center Supply Operations, Heavy Equipment Operations, Fabrication Welding, Machine and Sheet Metal Operations, Erection and Maintenance of Steel Structures, Centralized Construction Tool Room and Small Engine Repair Shop, Investment Recovery/Salvage/Recycled Material Operations, Company Store, Tool Room Control Area specifications and purchases, and related activities to meet departmental goals/objectives. Plan, schedule and coordinate activities of employees; ensure adherence to work standards/time schedules; review/approve reports, recommendations, expenditures and other pertinent documents; prepare/monitor area budgets. Coordinate and provide assistance and consultation to other departments and external customers and agencies.
Administer departmental contracts; oversee all Division fuel processes including ordering, issuing and delivery. Provide for and be administratively responsible for a capable staff to meet the current commitments and future performance standards through proper selection/development and motivation of qualified personnel. Make presentations to the Board of Commissioners and other interested groups; prepare/analyze provide comparative data, industrial studies/surveys and other information. Meet and counsel with departmental employees and customers; resolve problems and make recommendations as required; stay abreast of Division policies and procedures and up-to-date developments in the Stores and Supply Operations field. Responsible for the overall safe work practices and operations of the department. Operate Division vehicle and computer hardware and software applications. Perform other duties as directed.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
A valid driver's license from state of residence is required.
EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Civil, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or related field is required.
EXPERIENCE
Must have 6 years of progressive professional level experience in Stores and Supply Operations including 2 years of supervisory experience.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Must successfully complete NIMS Training within one year of entering job. Works inside majority of time under good conditions. Subject to shop related hazards such as heavy equipment and machinery and held work inspections. Subject to 24 hour call. Physical Demands: Requires sedentary work involving standing or walking for brief periods, exerting up to 20 pounds of force on a regular basis; and some dexterity in operating office equipment.
