What are the responsibilities and job description for the Public Address Announcer position at Memphis Redbirds?
Join the Memphis Redbirds as an official PA Announcer for the 2025 baseball season! We are seeking a charismatic person who can bring enthusiasm and knowledge of the game of baseball to become the voice of our team! THIS IS A PART-TIME SEASONAL POSITION.
Responsibilities Include:
- Announce in-game action including but not limited to: lineups, pre-game activities, in-game promotions, in-game activities, sponsorship mentions, and all other game script items.
- Perform ad reads and announcements before, during, and after Memphis Redbirds games.
- Bring an enthusiastic demeanor to each game to elevate the fan experience.
- Review and provide feedback on PA script with game operations personnel to ensure a high level of accuracy and execution.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must have reliable transportation to scheduled shifts.
- Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of baseball
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable announcing to crowds of 10,000 people on a microphone
- Comfortable announcing complex names from a variety of ethnic backgrounds
- Ability to read a script and adapt on the fly if needed.
- Always maintain a professional image whether on or off the microphone.
- Demonstrate a friendly and positive attitude and engage in fan interaction.
- Flexible schedule (shifts include nights, weekends, and/or holidays), including availability for all home games (April through September)
