Memphis River Parks Partnership

Background

Memphis River Parks Partnership works with and for the people of Memphis to trigger the transformative power of the Mississippi. We believe a better Memphis begins at the riverfront and a better riverfront begins with each team member.

The Partnership is a not-for-profit operation funded by the City of Memphis, contributions, and an array of earned revenue streams from parking, cruise ships, park rentals and food and beverage.

The organization operates by Management Agreement with the City of Memphis and has responsibility for developing, managing and maintaining five miles of riverfront. The riverfront includes 11 parks, multiple boat docks, the building at Beale Street Landing with 9000 square feet under roof, a five-mile bike/ped trail, fountains, an amphitheater, a museum, food and beverage operations, a walk bridge over the harbor, a marina, and a bike/ped bridge over the Mississippi, among other assets.

The Partnership has built an early version of a bike/ped trail and a newly constructed $60 million signature Tom Lee Park designed by world-renowned design firms Studio Gang and SCAPE, and currently underway is the restoration of a six-block historic Cobblestone Landing.
