Purpose and Scope
This position delivers at a high level of competency Information Technology design and installation of instructional and administrative networks and the network infrastructure. Assesses and performs analysis on data and prepares data to facilitate Technical Services functions of organization. Responsibilities require understanding of both theory and practice.
Essential Job Functions
Develop and design scalable, reliable, and secure network architectures using Juniper routers, switches, and firewalls.
Leads the implementation of Juniper-based solutions, including routing, switching, security, and WAN optimization.
Collaborates with Juniper and other venders to assess new technologies, manage procurement process, and ensure the successful deployment of solutions.
Designs and implements security policies and controls using Juniper products to ensure network security and regulatory compliance.
Develop and apply solutions to problems which require extensive knowledge, and competency in Information Technology Services.
Serves as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) in design, installation, configuration and upgrading of network systems.
Leads team in project planning, presentation, and implementation; prepares and recommends network specifications to satisfy customer requirements; uses CAD to prepare technical drawings; obtains cost estimates; assists in developing installation schedules. Collaborate with management to determine type, scope, purpose of analyses and assigned project completion.
Monitors performance of network systems; performs routine maintenance; troubleshoots and resolves computer network problems; documents problems and resolution; performs upgrades.
Inspects work in progress and at completion for compliance with applicable specifications, contracts, policies and procedures, regulations and standards of quality and safety.
Analyzes, develops, and implements ideas for improved network efficiency and effectiveness.
Prepares and maintains narrative and statistical reports, records, correspondence, and files related to assigned service, activities, and operations.
Performs other duties ass assigned or directed.
Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management or a related field; PLUS four (4) years related experience in related field, or equivalent, for a total of eight (8) years; OR an equivalent combination of related education and experience totaling eight (8) years. (PROOF OF EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND/OR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED)
Degree Equivalency Formula:
Bachelor’s Degree= 4 years plus required years of experience.
Master’s Degree=6 years plus required years of experience.
