SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:
Delivers at a high level of competency in School Operations. Assesses and performs analysis on data, and prepares data to facilitate School Operations functions of organization.
- Collaborates with supervisor and other District staff to develop short- and long-range plans for assigned program or functional area.
- Provides professional development for principals, assistant principals, teachers, family specialists, and parent counselors on use of data tracked from parent concerns.
- Provides professional development to principals and School Based Decision-Making Councils/Parent Organizations in region to ensure compliance of district initiatives.
- Provides confidential consultations and mentoring to constituents and parents with concerns related to their children and/or Shelby County Schools (SCS), serving as a liaison to all parties involved.
- Aids parents with student registration, escorts/accompany parents to events at schools when they have been banned from campus.
- Consults with School Operation Director or Manager to develop cooperative strategies for concern resolutions.
- Reviews the patterns of grievances and makes appropriate recommendations for policies and practices that would reduce or eliminate recurring grievances.
- Coaches principals on how to improve customer service within schools.
- Works with other SCS staff to develop workshops, meetings, and conferences by scheduling participants and presenters.
- Assist school personnel and constituents in interpreting and adhering to SCS policies, protocol and procedures.
- Provides professional development to the District for school, parent, and support personnel on best practices to increase and sustain parental involvement in schools.
- Develops, schedules, implements, monitors and evaluates all programs, projects and operations in area of responsibility. Handles questions and concerns for constituents, which includes, but is not limited to researching, analyzing, resolving, and tracking the data for parent concerns.
- Researches, compiles data for, and prepares various statistical, administrative and/or financial reports as required. Compiles statistical data including call volume, call types, and 20-day constituent concerns for Compstat reporting.
- Performs other duties as assigned
Graduated from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social work, or a related field; PLUS three (3) years related experience in related field; OR an equivalent combination of related education and experience totaling seven (7) years. (PROOF OF EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND/OR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED)
