Description :
Supports strategies to engage the parent voice in the work of the Early Success Coalition. Provides capacity building, coaching, and mentoring support to community partners and providers to reinforce positive parenting concepts. Supports strategies to engage the parent voice in local early childhood practice and policy. Coordinates activities related to Nurturing Parenting, including recruitment, screening, planning, and implementation. Engages community partners that are administering the Nurturing Parenting curriculum, recruits partners to administer the Nurturing Parenting program.
- Please note that the work location for this position will be based at Shelby County Juvenile Court.
Requirements :
Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Child Development, Psychology, Counseling, Sociology, Public Health or closely related field requiredMinimum of two (2) years of relevant job experience.Training or teaching experience is strongly preferred.Basic understanding of maternal health, child development, adolescent development, mental health and the dynamics of child abuse and neglect, and trauma.Knowledge of community resources and how to access them.Knowledge of human learning theory.Understanding the use of data to measure outcomes and the role of applying data to improve service quality.Culturally competent to serve diverse populations.Excellent Communications Skills (oral and written)Comfortable speaking in front of large groupsInterpersonal skills to conduct interviews and facilitate groups.Organizational skills to coordinate timely response to multiple activities.Must be proficient in Google Suite and / or Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.Experience collecting, tracking, and reporting on data and outcomesValid driver’s license and documentation of automobile insurance.Essential Job Functions :
Coordinates community partners’ participation in Nurturing Parenting Program and other parent engagement strategies.Assists team with activities related to the Parent Leadership Training Institute, including recruitment of participants, screening candidates, planning, and implementation.Assists with the recruitment of community partners for training in parent engagement programming and activities.Works with ESCN Specialists to coordinate parent education and leadership activities with network partners.Assists with procedures for collecting and reporting outcomes by community partners, administers validated tools to measure participant progress, and aggregates data into a data system for scheduled reports.Reviews data from key programs such as Nurturing Parenting and the Parent Leadership Training Institute with Manager and community partners for continuous quality improvement.Provides Nurturing Parenting curriculum to community participants as needed and ensures that programming is implemented with fidelity using evidence based practices.Recruits participants for parent programming at our partner site (Shelby County Juvenile Court).Helps facilitate a learning community of partners trained in and implementing the Nurturing Parenting program while working in collaboration with local partners.Connects parents and families to community resources as neededRemains abreast of trends, changes and updates related to parent leadership and parenting skills to share with partners.Attends training to expand knowledge of parent engagement strategy and parenting skills building.Contribute to team effort by performing other duties as assigned.May include work on nights and weekends.Supervisory Responsibilities :

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and / or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and color vision. Work in a non-smoking environment.
Special Conditions
Maintain a valid driver’s license with a good driving record with appropriate level of insurance.
