Position Title: IT Support Staff
Classification: Hourly
Reports to: IT Manager or Designee
Position Description
The Information Technology Support staff is a vital component of the Mended Reeds Mental Health administrative team. This on-site position provides hands-on technical support for all aspects of information technology (IT), under the direct supervision of the IT Manager, who works remotely. Collaborating closely with the IT Manager, this role is responsible for the installation, oversight, and maintenance/repair of the organization’s IT assets. In essence, this entails maintaining the inventory of assigned equipment and managing the organization’s software requirements, including conducting installations and providing training. This position involves working closely with various departments to identify training needs, coordinate services, troubleshoot equipment, and ensure systems are functioning effectively to achieve agency objectives.
IT systems comprise of on-site network servers, Wi-Fi access points, telephones, door access mechanisms, remote communication links, electronic health records, Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office suite, Outlook email client, antivirus software, and other relevant components.
Essential Functions
- Hardware and Software Management:
- Setting up, repairing, and installing hardware and software, including user training.
- Technical Support and Maintenance:
- Troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues, ensuring smooth IT operations, and minimizing downtime.
- Security and Compliance:
- Managing system firewall protection, maintaining equipment inventory list, and ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
- Additional Tasks:
- Developing and maintaining spreadsheets for use with reporting metrics from various teams during the management meeting.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Education: A High School Diploma or GED is required, a technical certification/degree is preferred
- Experience: While a technical certification/degree is preferred, demonstrated experience is acceptable in lieu of certification.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Excellent communication abilities.
- Proficiency in Ethernet network cabling, Windows operating systems and other technologies.
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment, monitor server health and network/internet connection issues.
- Key Competencies:
- Problem-solving and critical thinking.
- Adaptability to changing needs and priorities.
- Interpersonal and collaboration skills with other departments.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Agency-wide Minimum Requirements
- Valid Ohio Drivers’ License
- High School Diploma or Equivalent G.E.D.
- Background Clearance: BCI/FBI background check; Abstract Driving Record; Perpetrator check; Abuse and Neglect Search
- Drug Screen
- Statement of No Offenses
- Maintaining a good driving record throughout employment
