Overview
To direct curriculum, student discipline, attendance and activities, to promote the educational well being of each student in order to provide an atmosphere to allow all students to achieve their maximum potential abilities. By use of leadership, supervisory and administrative skills, to manage assigned school so as to promote the educational development of each student in the building.
Duties
Curriculum development, supervise all student conduct, attendance, and oversees all disciplinary procedures.
Evaluate all staff.
Supervise the schools extracurricular programs.
Serves with parents, faculty, and student groups as requested in advancing educational and related activities and objectives.
Foster good school-community relations.
Performs other duties as assigned by the superintendent.
Requirements
- Master's degree with a major in Education Administration preferred.
- Administrative Certificate by the State of Michigan or willing to meet the requirements within the time frame allowable by the State of Michigan.
- A minimum of three (3) years of successful teaching experience.
- Previous administration experience at the elementary school is preferred.
- Knowledge of Special Education Federal and State requirements.
- Ability to effectively communicate with students, parents, colleagues, officials and media.
- Has excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to lead and work in teams.
- Demonstrates professionalism, exercises tact, and responds well under pressure.
- Demonstrates excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrates critical thinking and problem solving skills.
- Knowledge of National Core State Standards in Math and ELA.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
