The Clinical Therapist is responsible for delivering comprehensive clinical and case management services to clients and their families. This includes assessment, treatment planning, crisis intervention, and providing individual, family, and group therapy. The Clinical Therapist plays an active role in interdisciplinary teamwork, discharge planning, community liaison efforts, and must adhere to all regulations, safety protocols, and policies as outlined by Mental Health Associates of the Triad.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct care through individual, group, and family therapy.
- Conduct psychosocial assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Deliver services based on evidence-based treatment models in a therapeutic and client-centered environment.
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation and clinical records.
- Implement and evaluate outcome-based treatment strategies.
- Participate in quality management and performance improvement activities.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and serve as a community liaison.
- Ensure adherence to federal, state, and agency standards of care.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Clinical Director.
- Master's degree in a relevant field (Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, etc.).
- Must be licensed or license-eligible in one of the following:
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
- Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC or LCMHC)
- Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
- Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist (LCAS)
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
- Ability to assess and identify client needs, including those in crisis.
- Knowledge of mental health, substance use, developmental disabilities, and child/adolescent development.
- Familiarity with state and federal standards of care.
- Strong clinical assessment, case planning, and advocacy skills.
- Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrates active listening, empathy, and cultural sensitivity.
- Primary work will be conducted in a clinical setting with occasional responsibilities in community locations (court, hospital, home visits).
- Typical hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM (flexibility required).
- May exceed 40 hours per week based on client and organizational needs.
- Reports to the Clinical Director.
- Accountable for the quality and delivery of client care.
- No direct supervisory responsibilities unless otherwise assigned.
- Maintain professional appearance and emotional/physical stability to perform all job functions.
- Adhere to all agency policies regarding attendance, punctuality, and confidentiality.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and agency trainings.
- Demonstrate initiative, problem-solving, and sound judgment.
- Comply with all emergency procedures and maintain a safe, clean work environment.
