Title: Bilingual CORE & Vocational Services Provider

Reports to: CORE and Vocational Supervisor

Job Objectives

As a CORE and Vocational Services Provider, play a crucial role in empowering individuals by delivering high-quality services throughout Orange County. This role involves providing Vocational, Psychosocial Rehabilitative Services and Family Support Services to CORE Services participants. The position actively promotes an environment consistent with MHA's Cultural Equity Policy and WELCOME Orange.

Direct supervision of stated positions and oversight of stated programs are periodically re-evaluated and may change subject to the discretion of Executive Director.

Responsibilities

Service Delivery:

  • Provide Vocational and CORE services to a caseload of up to 40 individuals.
  • Conduct the weekly Hudson House Vocation/Education Group sessions.
  • Conduct Vocational and CORE groups as needed.
  • Support and restore social and interpersonal skills necessary for independent community living, with a focus on employment or educational goals.
  • Enhance social skills, including engagement, conversation, and listening skills, while building on support networks.
  • Increase community awareness through the identification and pursuit of interests, resources, and natural support.
  • Provide individual psychoeducation and skill-building to promote personal autonomy, such as stress management, symptom control, relapse trigger identification, and pursuing leisure interests.

Pre-Vocational Concepts

  • Teach pre-vocational concepts such as work compliance, attendance, task completion, problem-solving, and safety.
  • Coordinate activities supporting job attainment and retention.
  • Provide learning and work experiences that strengthen soft skills.

Health And Wellness

  • Support comfortable interactions with healthcare professionals.
  • Establish positive health routines and practices.
  • Assist in improving health wellness and personal self-care activities, including meal planning, healthy shopping, meal preparation, grooming, managing finances, and other aspects of independent living.

Community Engagement

  • Establish and maintain linkages with appropriate community agencies and service providers, including Care Management agencies, county clinics, and SPOA (Single Point of Access).
  • Connect with referral sources for CORE Services to ensure a collaborative and comprehensive approach.
  • Actively participate in team meetings and contribute to other assigned tasks.

Documentation And Record Keeping

  • Complete monthly billing for the caseload.
  • Conduct monthly data collection and report information accurately.
  • Maintain all client records electronically through Foothold Technology and Electronic Record Keeping.
  • Organize and maintain all client files according to program policies and procedures.

Other Duties

  • In the spirit of teamwork, answer MHA's main office phone as needed.
  • Participate in MHA's committees as needed.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, human services, or related field (required)

Experience

  • Minimum of two years' experience providing services to individuals with a serious mental illness or substance use disorder.
  • Experience providing employment support, education support or vocational assistance a plus.
  • Experience using motivational interviewing and trauma informed practices.
  • Experience navigating an Electronic Health Record.
  • Bilingual Spanish / English highly preferred.
