The Program Coordinator will oversee and manage The Resource Center (TRC), a day service program for survivors of acquired brain injury or other significant medical conditions. This role encompasses planning, coordinating, and implementing a variety of programs, activities, and events that align with organizational goals and participant needs. The coordinator will maintain high standards of confidentiality, advocacy, and teamwork to foster a positive and inclusive environment. Responsibilities include ensuring program operations adhere to organizational mission, leadership objectives, funding requirements, and applicable regulations, while delivering high-quality services to participants.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Promote Agency Values: Integrate and promote the agency's mission, core values, and guiding principles in all aspects of the program
  • Collaborative Leadership: Partner with staff, supervisors, and leadership to provide impactful programming that enhances participant wellness
  • Person-Centered Approach: Implement Trauma-Informed Care and Person-Centered practices within the program
  • Program Oversight: Plan, direct, and coordinate community center activities, including programs, events, and daily operations
  • Volunteer Recruitment: Identify and engage volunteers to lead classes or groups focusing on topics such as employment training, creative expression, health and wellness, literacy, and cooking/nutrition
  • Needs Assessment: Work with participants and staff to identify and address social and recreational needs within the community
  • Internship Management: Supervise interns from diverse academic and professional programs to bring varied services to TRC participants
  • Communication Management: Develop and manage communications, including social media, newsletters, calendars, and emails
  • Community Engagement: Act as a liaison to local agencies and service providers to bring programs and services to TRC. Foster relationships with key community members and leaders
  • Program Development: Identify center needs, recruit vendors, and develop new programs as required
  • Fiscal Responsibility: Monitor expenditures, adhere to program budgets, and participate in fundraising efforts such as grant writing. Ensure implementation of grant-funded programs
  • Performance Monitoring: Track goals, timelines, and resources. Evaluate and document the quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of programming. Maintain records for outcome measurement
  • Facility Management: Oversee facility operations, including maintenance, security, and scheduling
  • Participant Engagement: Work with support committees and divisions to engage participants. Attend relevant team and management meetings
  • Staff Supervision: Collaborate with the Site Manager to train, evaluate, and oversee personnel
  • Conflict Resolution: Investigate and address complaints or inquiries from participants and staff. Escalate issues as necessary
  • Administrative Support: Respond to inquiries, maintain correspondence with agencies and vendors, and provide administrative assistance as needed
  • Additional Duties: Perform other tasks as assigned


Requirements

Required Education and Experience

  • Master's or bachelor'sdegree with at least 5 years of experience working with disadvantaged populations, including 2 years in a supervisory capacity
  • Experience with day service and activity programming is strongly preferred
  • Experience working with individuals affected by brain injury, psychiatric diagnoses, developmental disabilities, trauma, substance use, and/or homelessness is required
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in oral and written communication, computer use, and organizational tasks
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and function as part of a team
  • Detail-oriented and adaptable to the changing needs of program participants
  • Valid driver's license, adequate automobile insurance, an acceptable driving record, and access to a reliable vehicle during working hours
  • Ability to maintain all core competency and required training


Physical Demands

The role requires frequent verbal communication and hearing. It also involves prolonged periods of sitting, along with frequent use of hands and fingers for handling, grasping, typing, and writing. Occasionally, the employee may need to kneel and/or climb stairs. Employee must be able to utilize lifts and machinery associated with providing personal care to those we support. Vision requirements include color distinction, visual inspection, visual perception, and hand-eye coordination.
