MHC has an immediate full-time 30- hour work-week opening (Thursday overnight into Friday morning, Friday overnight into Saturday morning, Saturday overnight into Sunday morning, and Sunday overnight into Monday morning) Friday - Monday 12:00 am - 8:00 am for a Residential Specialist I within the Torrington area. This position is in our program that serves a capacity of four women with a history of trauma and multiple long-term psychiatric hospitalizations. The Sanctuary Model is utilized when providing services in this program. This position will be responsible to document and deliver services, including Medicaid reimbursable services, if applicable, to persons in recovery in the activities outlined in their Individual Recovery Plans.
Pay Rate: $21.00 per hour. MHC is currently paying a shift differential of $1.00 per hour worked between 12:00 am - 8:00 am in addition to the hourly pay rate.

Requirements
The Residential Specialist I responsibilities include:
- Engage with persons in recovery to assure they participate in programs and activities.
- Document all activities, communications, and encounters with individuals in recovery according to service contract and MHC requirements.
- Orient individuals to the program available to them.
- Teach and assist Activities of Daily Living (ADL) skills to maintain a clean and orderly environment.
- Implement the Individual Recovery Plan (IRP).
- Monitor and documents the self-administration of medications noting any refusal, resistance, reactions, errors, or special conditions.
- Monitor the safety of individuals in recovery in their residences through proper supervision of the sites ensuring the maintenance of safe and healthy facilities.
- Communicate immediate concerns with supervisory staff.
- Provide emergent program site coverage when necessary. May be mandated to remain on site or to report beyond scheduled hours to provide essential coverage.
- Attend trainings and meetings as required.
Education and/or Experience:
- GED or High School Diploma required.
- Experience in community mental health preferred.
- Experience with Individuals who have trauma and long-term psychiatric hospitalization histories preferred.
- Knowledge/experience with the Sanctuary Model preferred but not required.
