Position Overview:
We are actively hiring a Community Support Specialist (CSS) to provide individualized, community-based support to Disabled Veterans and others living with brain injuries or neurological conditions. This role is vital in helping clients achieve greater independence by developing life skills and connecting them to meaningful resources within their communities.
The ideal candidate is someone who is compassionate, resourceful, and passionate about empowering others—especially those who have served our country.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one support to Disabled Veterans and other clients in home and community settings
- Assist clients in building and maintaining skills for independent living (e.g., transportation, socialization, self-care)
- Connect clients with community resources, veteran services, and support networks
- Help clients set and reach personal goals through coaching and empowerment
- Collaborate with team members and external providers to ensure consistent and holistic support
- Act as a client advocate and help navigate local systems and benefits
- Maintain accurate and timely service documentation

Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to pass a background check
- Flexible schedule based on client needs
- Military background or experience working with the veteran community preferred but not required

Pay: $20.19 - $23.89 per hour
Expected hours: 12 per week
