Duties Description The Office of Mental Health (OMH) is seeking a qualified candidate for a Mental Hygiene Program Evaluation Specialist 3, G-23, to work within the Office of Quality Management, Bureau of Quality Improvement (BQI), New York State Incident Management and Reporting System Unit (NIMRS). The NIMRS Unit is responsible for performing activities related to ongoing development, database maintenance, and user support and training which are essential to the functioning of the NIMRS system.Specific duties include, but are not limited to, the following: • Assist in the coordination and design of the NIMRS 2.0 application.• Assist in the planning and implementation of the NIMRS 2.0 rollout; including development of the training plan, statewide demos and training and documentation.• Report creation and dissemination; provide timely, accurate, data and reports in response to requests for this information• Complete High-Profile Client Lookups as needed.• Provide User training and develop training material• Monitor NIMRS Help desk and assist users and business staff with NIMRS questions/issues. • and assist users to resolve questions and issues• Work with ITS staff to prevent and resolve unexpected technical issues• Perform other NIMRS staff duties, when needed• Perform various Ad Hoc assignments/projects – directed by, and on behalf of, NIMRS leadership and/or NIMRS stakeholders, under the direction of the NIMRS Director
The minimum qualifications required for this vacancy. Minimum Qualifications Non-Competitve Appointment: Candidates must have a bachelor's degree and three years of professional program evaluation experience in a human services setting, which includes the design, modification, and/or utilization of data collection instruments and processes; conducting analysis; and the preparation of reports and other documents; all for the purposes of assessing program operations, improving program effectiveness and efficiency, and informing future program development.Transfer Opportunity: Candidates must currently be permanent as a Mental Hygiene Program Evaluation Specialist 3 and eligible for a lateral transfer OR have one year of permanent service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.55 b/c Opportunity: Candidates must meet the eligibility requirements of the Governor's Program to Hire Individuals and Veterans with Disabilities as described in Civil Service Law § 55b/c.
