Mental Health Professionals and SMARTS Recovery, by VABODE, provides mental health and addiction recovery services to individuals and families throughout the state of Virginia, for over 30-years. We are seeking a licensed or licensed-eligible (LPC, LSATP, or LCSW) professional to join our team IMMEDIATELY as a part-time assessor for multiple programs including Substance Abuse (primarily) and Behavioral Health services in the Greater Richmond area (includes Chesterfield, VA-main office location).
JOB SUMMARY:
The individual hired for this position will conduct ASAM assessments and other mental health services assessments as scheduled, on average 4 days per week. The primary responsibilities are:
1. Complete initial ASAM assessment and intake paperwork of clients referred for a substance abuse assessment.
2. May also provide case management or therapy as needed.
JOB SUMMARY:
The individual hired for this position will conduct ASAM assessments and other mental health services assessments as scheduled, on average 4 days per week. The primary responsibilities are:
1. Complete initial ASAM assessment and intake paperwork of clients referred for a substance abuse assessment.
2. May also provide case management or therapy as needed.
2. Screening referral calls.
3. Request referral information (if from the hospital) and/or fill out a referral statement with pertinent information.
4. Check Medicaid Status on Medicaid and Magellan Websites. (Magellan has a recent address, which is an important piece of information). Note: which type of insurance do they have to determine the expected stay.
5. Completes initial authorization(s) as outlined by Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS).
6. Complete Initial ISP before the end of the assessment interview with the client.

Licensed and in good standing with the Virginia Department of Health Professionals in psychology, social work, or human services field. This documentation will be due upon accepting the position.
