Job Title: Project Manager
Location: Miami, FL (Remote Position - Must reside within Miami area)
Some travel may be required.
Join our expanding MEP engineering firm as we establish our office in Miami! Headquartered in Houston, we are seeking an experienced Project Manager with expertise in designing and managing commercial projects in the Miami area, and experience collaborating with local city officials. Ideally, we are looking for someone who is well-connected in the local community, with established relationships with city officials, architects, developers, and other key stakeholders in the Miami area.
What You’ll Do
As Project Manager, you will oversee all phases of commercial projects in Miami and surrounding areas, ensuring seamless execution from inception to completion. Your responsibilities will include:
Project Oversight: Lead project planning and scheduling in collaboration with our Houston team to deliver cost-effective, timely results.
Client & Stakeholder Coordination: Serve as the primary liaison between clients, subcontractors, and internal teams, ensuring clear communication and alignment.
Permitting & City Relations: Represent the firm in meetings with architects, city officials, and clients; facilitate the permitting process and resolve city-related issues.
Construction Administration: Conduct on-site visits, provide assessments of existing buildings, and oversee construction administration.
Technical Expertise: Offer guidance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems with support from the Houston office.
Business Development: Collaborate with our business development team to expand client relationships and secure future opportunities.
What You’ll Need
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Licensure: Having a PE license in Florida is preferred but not mandatory.
Technical Expertise:
Strong knowledge of HVAC system design, with additional experience in electrical, plumbing, fire protection systems, and energy efficiency consulting.
Proficient in AutoCAD, REVIT, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Experience: Minimum 3 years related work experience preferred.
Code Knowledge: Deep understanding of Florida and local area codes.
Skills: Exceptional project management, leadership, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Residency: Must reside in Miami or the immediate area.
Languages: Fluency in both English and Spanish.
Additional Details
Remote Position: This is a remote role, allowing flexibility while managing projects in the Miami area.
Training: A one-month training period at our Houston HQ may be required to ensure a seamless transition into the role.
