Responsbilities
- Monitor the productivity of staff and the work plan on every engagement
- Identify areas for which control and inherent risk assessments may be lowered
- Understand how changes in the economy, industry, and business processes affect the planning process
- Gather appropriate evidence using advanced analytical reviews
- Identify situations when deviation from or addition to planned procedures is appropriate
- Plan engagements based on Risk Assessments
- Document internal controls on a timely basis
- Test systems of internal control appropriately based on risk assessment (i.e., walkthrough vs. test of control)
- Perform an effective engagement administration review
- Complete engagements so that the "lights-out" approach may be used
- Recognize and document appropriate matters for Partner attention
- Assist with financial reporting and ensure accuracy and compliance with relevant standards
- Participate in industry-related meetings or seminars
- Learn and appropriately use industry-specific terminology
- Function without close supervision
- Ask for assignments that will support specialty development
- Participate in debriefing sessions
