Mercado’s offers a comprehensive range of services to customers from construction roll off dumpsters to commercial and industrial waste services; to include service for our subsidiary company Purple Heart Portable Restrooms.
Position Description:
We are seeking a Territory Sales Manager to join our team as part of the leadership team to promote and sell our comprehensive waste management services and portable toilets. The Sales Representative will be responsible for expanding and growing Mercado’s sales through existing accounts and potential opportunities through door-to-door sales and in-person meetings. The ideal candidate will have a proven sales background within the waste services industry, excellent communication skills, a proactive approach to client engagement, and the ability to self-manage, analyze data, identify targeted business development, and grow the company’s presence in the North and South Carolina regions.

Responsibilities:
- Drive the promotion and sale of the Company’s waste management services through targeted prospecting, business development, and strategic relationship building within the designated Territory.
- Build and nurture relationships with customers, commercial and construction clients, franchisers, business leaders, and government officials to secure new contracts and extend existing agreements for waste collection, processing, transportation, and disposal.
- Apply consultative selling techniques to understand client needs, working closely with the Managing Director and internal teams to meet expectations and successfully close deals.
- Collaborate with Managing Director to develop and implement market and sales strategies, ensuring alignment with both short-term and long-term business goals.
- Consistently meet or exceed sales activity targets for new business development, contributing to the overall growth of the Company’s customer base.
- Ensure customer satisfaction by aligning services with client needs, maintaining clear and open communication, and providing tailored waste management solutions.
- Maintain and strengthen customer relationships through proactive outreach, direct engagement, and continuous support.
- Drive the acquisition, retention, and renewal of contracts by building and maintaining key relationships with decision-makers, ensuring ongoing client satisfaction and loyalty.
- Handle other relevant tasks and duties as assigned by management to support the overall objectives of company sales goals.
Requirements:
- 4 years of B2B sales experience. 2 Waste industry experience.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Strong time management and decision-making skills
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Strong negotiation and strategic selling skills
- Ability to analyze market trends and develop strategic sales plans; provide sales reports and forecasting.
- Advanced computer skills using Microsoft Office
- Experience using a CRM; working knowledge of tools and sales tracking software
- Clear communication skills, both verbal and written
- Criminal Background Check and Drug Screen required
- Must have a clean driving record and valid Driver’s License
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
The incumbent will be required to routinely talk and hear, frequently sit for long periods of time (operating a vehicle or sitting at a desk) with occasional walking, use their hands to conduct general office tasks, repeat the same movements, with ability to bend and/or twist their body. May be required to lift up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to focus.
The incumbent will work in a mobile, remote environment with frequent use of various office spaces and may spend 8 hours alternating between client meetings, driving, and demonstration of service offerings.
