What are the responsibilities and job description for the Speech Therapist (Itinerant) position at Merced County Office of Education?
Under the direction of the Coordinator, Special Education Department, provides services to pupils with speech and/or language handicaps in Merced County. This position is included in the certificated bargaining unit and is subject to terms of the union agreement regarding membership, payment of like fee, or donation to recognized charity. The Merced County Office of Education assists Merced County’s 20 school districts through support and oversight of curriculum and instruction, alternative education, business services, early education, technology, migrant education, special education, and teacher credentialing. MCOE is led by the elected Merced County Superintendent of Schools and governed by the Merced County Board of Education. While serving as a focal point to facilitate local school/government/community partnerships, MCOE is responsible for the fiscal oversight of each school district in Merced County, hears appeals for student expulsion hearings and interdistrict transfers and operates Green Meadows Outdoor School. Education:
Completion of degrees necessary for issuance of credential to serve in the areas of language, speech and hearing.
Credentials and/or Skills:
Appropriate CA credential authorizing service as a speech therapist.
Valid CA driver’s license.
DMV H-6 printout required.
Experience:
Clinical training and speech therapy experience including clinical practice with school-aged children.
Salary : $64,222 - $115,822
