Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Automotive Service Manager to lead our service department and ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, leadership skills and a deep understanding of automotive diagnostics, enabling them to effectively manage service operations, oversee technicians, and enhance the overall performance of the service team. This role requires a blend of technical expertise and exceptional leadership skills to drive service excellence.
Duties
- Lead and manage the service department to achieve operational goals and objectives.
- Oversee daily operations including scheduling, workflow management, and staff supervision.
- Ensure high-quality automotive service by maintaining standards for diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance.
- Ensure approved policies and objectives are clearly understood and effectively applied within the department.
- Foster a customer-centric environment by addressing inquiries and resolving complaints effectively.
- Collaborate with advisors to promote service offerings and drive additional revenue through upselling while maintaining manufacturer benchmark CSI.
- Train and mentor staff on best practices in automotive service and customer engagement. Strive to exceed our customer’s expectations.
- Develop standards of customer treatment and enforce their use; devise special procedures for handling comebacks.
- Handle customer inquiries regarding services, repairs, and maintenance needs while providing exceptional customer service and resolve 100% of customer complaints in a timely manner.
- Handle timecard management, employee scheduling and adjustments for holidays and emergencies to ensure far and consistent staffing.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless communication regarding vehicle repairs and customer needs.
- Analyze performance metrics and implement corrective actions.
- Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices to enhance departmental performance.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations in service operations.
