Position Overview: As a member of our accounting team at Mercer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring the smooth functioning of our accounting processes. This position is based in our Fife office and requires a candidate with a strong background in accounts receivable, accounts payables, billing, collections, and possesses a 2-year accounting certificate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accounts Receivables:
- Generate and issue customer invoices in a timely manner.
- Monitor and follow up on outstanding customer payments.
- Reconcile accounts receivable ledger.
- Billing Specialist:
- Prepare and review billing statements for accuracy.
- Work closely with internal departments to ensure proper billing procedures.
- Address billing-related inquiries and resolve discrepancies.
- Data Entry:
- Accurately input financial data into accounting software.
- Ensure data integrity and resolve any discrepancies.
- QuickBooks Knowledge:
- Proficient use of QuickBooks software for financial record-keeping.
- Generate reports and analysis as needed
- Office and Customer Service:
- Handle phone calls and inquiries related to accounting matters.
- Provide excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial information accuracy.
- Microsoft Outlook:
- Utilize Microsoft Outlook for communication and coordination.
Qualifications:
- A 2-year accounting certificate is required.
- Proven experience as an Accounting Specialist or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent data entry skills and attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Effective communication and customer service skills.
