AR/AP Specialist

Position Overview :

Plymouth Poultry is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented A/R & A/P Specialist to join our finance team. This role plays a vital part in managing the company’s financial health by ensuring timely, accurate processing of receivables and payables. Key Objectives

• Support the company in optimizing its financial systems and processes
• Ensure timely and accurate payments and collections to maintain strong vendor and customer relationships
• Identify and implement process improvements in accounts receivable and payable functions
• Maintain the highest standards of integrity and confidentiality in financial transactions

Primary Responsibilities

• Manage collections for past-due balances while maintaining positive customer relationships
• Reconcile discrepancies in customer payments and resolve billing issues
• Assist with customer returns, pricing updates, and general account research
• Review, verify, and process invoices for proper documentation and approval
• Perform accurate data entry for invoices and general ledger accounts
• Reconcile bank and credit card transactions on a regular basis
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in purchase orders and receiving records
• Process daily ACH payments and obtain check signatures as needed
• Provide backup support to other administrative team members
• Assist with special financial projects and reports as assigned
• Support senior financial officers with various accounting tasks

• Associate degree in accounting or equivalent professional experience
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities
• A team player with strong interpersonal skills
• High attention to detail with a proactive, problem-solving mindset
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
• Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills
• Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains is a plus, but not required

Education and Experience

• College degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in accounts payable and/or receivable

Pay: $28.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 55 per week
