Responsibilities
Accountabilities:•Directs distribution operations, ensuring the highest standards of food and human safety.•Establishes quantitative and qualitative metrics, guidelines, and standards to evaluate the warehouse's efficiency and effectiveness; identifies areas for improvement.•Conduct reviews, analyses, and evaluations of business procedures•Enforce policies and procedures to enhance daily operational efficiency.•Establish effective working relationships with Maintenance, Transportation, Loss Prevention/Food Safety, Finance, and Retail Leaders to accomplish organizational objectives.•Manage inbound and outbound modeling to set staffing and production capacity goals.•Directs staffing procedures and collaborates with human resources to enhance efficiency and productivity through accurate selection and appropriate training.•Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching to direct reports to improve individual and team performance.•Support the development of individual and team performance goals that align with company objectives.•Offer guidance on the creation of systems designed to enhance and evaluate performance.•Plans, direct, controls, implements, evaluates, monitors, and forecasts budgets and cost of sales in each department to meet financial objectives.•Effectively communicates and explains new directives, policies, or procedures to managers. For significant changes, convenes with the entire operations staff to elucidate the modifications, address inquiries, and sustain morale.•Enhance customer service and satisfaction through changes in policies and procedures.•Coordinates and integrates efforts among operations, maintenance, technology, transportation, and customer service divisions to enhance workflow efficiency and cost-effectiveness.•Develop and maintain a succession plan; responsible for training and staffing activities that provide equal opportunity for team members to advance in the organization.•Evaluate the development and skill-building systems' impact on productivity and employee turnover. Make necessary adjustments as required.•Manages the Damage Reclaim Center to comply with company, state, and federal standards.•Encourages and maintains a customer service environment to ensure that customer orders and delivery schedules are met and addresses all issues promptly to meet customer satisfaction.•Promote safety in the warehouse by ensuring that all accidents are promptly reported to the company safety team. Additionally, ensure compliance with all legal and company regulations.•Negotiate agreements with third-party unloading companies to ensure timely and accurate inbound schedules.•Foster awareness and accountability among supervisors, warehouse maintenance, and transportation employees to reduce expenses across all areas (repairs, supplies) to meet or exceed budgeted costs.•Provides insight into the selection and purchasing of all warehouse supplies and equipment to ensure efficiency and safety and approves all warehouse expenses.•Manages all revenue-generating activities in the warehouse and encourages efforts to optimize revenue from both existing and new opportunities.•Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations, and company policies including OSHA, FDA, HACCP, FSMA, etc.•Develops and implements warehouse strategies that align with corporate objectives and metrics.•Collaborate with various departments within the organization to support cross-functional projects or initiatives.
Qualifications
Desirable Qualifications:• The candidate should have knowledge and skills equivalent to a bachelor's degree in business or logistics, or relevant experience.•Requires 10 years of progressive experience in distribution management
