Overview
Major Functions:
The Sr. Business Intelligence Analyst will enhance company success by creating business intelligence reports and dashboards that provide timely information for decision-making. Working within FP&A, Finance, and operational areas, the analyst will develop metrics, reports, and visuals to support data-driven decisions. They will collaborate with partners to gather requirements and deliver standardized views using tools like
Power BI.
The Sr. Business Intelligence Analyst will be responsible for acquiring new data (both internal and external), designing new data models in collaboration with the IT department as necessary, creating new metrics, reports, and dashboards, and validating the final results before promoting them into production, again working with IT as necessary.
Success in this role requires experience in making data easy to understand. The individual will manage projects from start to finish, including requirements, solutions, implementation, and change management to ensure both implementation and business value.

Power BI Reporting:
- Collaborate with functional leads to understand business processes and reporting needs.
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications.
- Create Power BI reports and dashboards, collaborating with IT for data sourcing and validation.
- Iterate with stakeholders to refine existing reports.
- Provide documentation, training, and support for users.
Ad Hoc Reporting and Analyses:
- Work closely with FP&A peers and functional leads to deliver ad hoc reporting & analyses. Key responsibilities include data discovery, sourcing, structuring, and modeling the data for analyses.
- As appropriate, turn ad hoc analyses into recurring reports or embed new views into existing reports and dashboards.
- Troubleshoot data issues with reporting platforms, data discrepancies, etc.
Governance and Data Integrity:
- Promote the analytic data warehouse governance and integrity by proactively participating in discussions representing and championing the data needs of the Analysts.
- Translate source system data changes (including, but not limited to, adding and/or modifying data and data flows) into technical requirements and partnering with IT to ensure the analytic data warehouse and analytic applications stay current and accurate.
- Work closely with IT on data strategy and designing and developing robust data structures and pipelines to support current and future reporting and analytic needs.
- Champion quality, accuracy, usability, and reliability of the analytic data warehouse and analytic applications by documenting and applying best practices in development and implementation.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Analytics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or another technical/data-intensive field.
- 3 years experience working in Power BI building interactive reporting, dashboards, and visualizations.
- 2 years experience working in relational and multidimensional databases.
- Strong Microsoft Office experience.
- Understanding of data engineering and analytics languages, specifically DAX and Power Query.
- SQL, Python, and R skills are a plus.
- Experience prioritizing workload and leading project deliverables through to completion.
- Experience in data governance and/or data stewardship is a plus.
- Prior experience in retail, wholesale, distribution, and/or consumer packaged goods is prefer
