What are the responsibilities and job description for the Low Voltage Installer position at Mercury Communications, LLC?
Background: This position is for an installation technician for Commercial and Residential spaces. The types of systems predominantly installed are: Starlink satellite internet in mostly private residences, cellular enhancement systems in both commercial and residential spaces, cable and managed IT systems installed in primarily commercial and governmental spaces.
Workday: Installation dates will vary depending on customer availability. Most installations are between Monday through Friday within normal work hours. Occasional weekend or evening hours may be required. Any hours more than 40 hours per week will be paid as over-time. Work schedules will be intermittent, with some weeks without projects and other weeks with multiple projects. Your preferred work availability will be given every consideration when scheduling, but it cannot be guaranteed. All tools and parts needed will be provided by Mercury Communications.
Travel: Mercury provides installation services throughout the Mid-Atlantic region, and we also have customers in other parts of the country. This requires the ability to travel for a few or even several days at a time. The company will cover travel arrangements and expenses.
Working Conditions:

Must be able to operate or learn to operate machinery (boom-lift etc)

Must be able to work on a ladder for extended periods.
Must be able to transport objects weighing in excess of 25 lbs

Pay: You will be paid on an hourly basis. You will clock-in with the payroll app (Gusto) when you arrive and clock-out when you return to the office. Payday is Friday and will be electronically deposited into your bank account via GUSTO. Pay is received the following week after you have worked. For example: if you work on a Monday and Wednesday one week, you will be paid on the following Friday, not the Friday of the same week you worked.
Transportation: You will need reliable transportation to get to the office at 2308 Middle Road, Winchester, VA. Once there, you will travel by company vehicle to and from the job site. Punctuality and a clean driving record are required.
Personal Requirements: This position requires negative drug screening results and the ability to receive clearance to enter governmental (especially Department of Defense) facilities. You will need to have a cell phone and the ability to receive texts and emails. Mercury provides the Microsoft Teams app, and a company e-mail address through Microsoft outlook. You will receive a weekly stipend for using your personally owned device for communications.
Advancement: No prior experience is required. On the job and certification training will be provided. This position will evolve into a certified RF low voltage technician. Compensation will rise as qualifications and certifications are completed.
