This company is renowned for outstanding products, service and technical support. They have an established USA sales team and an outstanding brand in the States. You will be reporting into their East Coast office this position will be home based covering a big area Texas, Arkansas, Missouri, Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Tennessee, Kentucky, Indiana. They ideally want somebody based in Texas but are open to hire anybody on patch, they want the best person somebody who can present and gain commitment with senior Professors and professional buyers in Universities across your region. The company has a massive range of products, some of which are very specialist and unique across the world. They allow students to test and feel the subjects they are learning across a wide range of fields such as Chemicals, Civil engineering, Agriculture, geology, Marine, Mechanical, Chemical engineering, Hydraulics, Compressors, Fluid dynamics, thermos dynamics, combustion, renewable energy and the list goes on!
This is a home-based role that requires regular customer visits throughout the sales region, extensive travel will be required. You will be supported from a team of internal engineers who will assist with any technical back up needed to assist in closing the sale and supporting the customer.
The Candidate:
- The successful candidate will have external technical sales experience
- Understand how to map out a sector, self-generation new business sales
- Ideally will have had experience of using technical engineering and scientific training equipment, at university and or college
- Ideally sold technical products into Universities and research institutions
- Understanding of University buying procedures and protocols, the nuances of the market will be a big advantage but not a prerequisite
- Sales Management Experience and or senior business development would be good
- Ability / experience of accurate forecasting and budgeting
- Pipeline management and closing skills
- Engineering or Science Degree or experience in it
- A strong strategic thinker with exceptional ability to develop relationships, manage key accounts and develop new business
- You will have excellent communication skills and able to communicate and sell to a wide variety of levels.
- A proven track record of business to business sales.
- Dynamic “can do” attitude, and enthusiasm for sales
- An engineering qualification will be advantageous but not essential.
- Extensive Product training will be provided.
- You will have an eye for upselling / cross selling opportunities
