Position Overview:
The successful candidate will join Mercury’s Central Accounting Department under the supervision of the Accounting Manager. This hybrid role requires a weekly on-site presence at our World Headquarters in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, while also offering work-life flexibility. The individual will collaborate closely with U.S. operations and global finance teams to ensure accurate accounting and reporting of tangible and intangible fixed assets.

Essential Functions:
- Manage and enhance the system of controls and procedures around fixed asset accounting.
- Ensure appropriate oversight & accounting practices are followed for acquisitions, dispositions, depreciation, and amortization in accordance with US GAAP and company policy.
- Participate in month-end close cycle as it relates to the fixed asset & project modules including preparing journal entries, financial reporting & reconciliations.
- Prepare fixed asset analyses and reports as requested by management.
- Lead periodic physical counts, impairment, and obsolescence reviews, reporting results and recommended actions to management.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure proper capitalization of new projects.
- Coordinate with others to ensure all leases are properly identified and reported under ASC 842.
- Manage property tax accruals, payments and annual tax filing preparation
- Liaison for internal & external auditors’ inquiries and requests related to fixed assets and projects.
- Support Accounts Payable with sales tax audits related to fixed assets.
- Assist Brunswick Corporate Tax as necessary to meet tax compliance responsibilities.
- Undertake special projects as directed by the Accounting Manager or Global Financial Controller.

- Strong understanding of accounting concepts, techniques, and principles.
- Proficiency with Microsoft applications.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Self-motivated with energy and drive.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 2 years of general accounting experience.
- Knowledge of ERP systems, with a preference for Oracle.
