Position Overview
This job requires the operator to run machines to do a specific machining process to molded plastic parts. Operator will have complete and thorough training from the Equipment Programmer/Operator before running this equipment. Operator must correctly place the parts on the machine fixture and secure them using the foot pedal or the hand controls. Operator may need to deburr and/or gauge parts during the machine cycles. Operators are required to select program, change fixtures, & run the machines and are not permitted to program unless properly trained and authorized to do so. Operator must be able to record process control data, read and interpret blueprint tolerances, use measurement tools properly, start-up and shut down equipment, and operate tools independently.

Essential Functions
Position requires operator to be mechanically inclined with basic reading, writing and mathematics skills. Position requires operator to work in a team environment, follow direction, read work instructions; including addition and subtraction of part counts, organizational skills and multitasking. Other requirements include use of hand tools, scales, and other process related equipment such as fixtures and gauges. Some hand tools require the operator to be ambidextrous.
The position requires standing for extended periods, moderate lifting of up to 50 lbs, and working in extreme temperatures and moderate working conditions.
The job requires the use of chemicals that could cause respiratory tract irritation, such as rust inhibitors and cleaners.

Required Qualifications
- Basic Assembler experience
- Must have normal to high manual dexterity skills
- Must be able to use hand tools, scales, and other process related equipment such as fixtures, assembly presses and drill presses.
- Fine hand manipulation, pinching, pulling and grasping of small-medium-large parts
- Operator must have full range of motion in hands, arms, legs, neck and back to perform job duties.
- Knowledge of Measurement Tools
- Complete skills test
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum of two years Mercury Marine manufacturing experience
- Basic knowledge of Molding/Plastics
- Computer literate
- Attendance occurrence record should be excellent
- Manufacturing setting.
- Requires standing for long periods of time.
- Non-temperature controlled environment.
