What You Will Do
- Verify insurance benefits and secure authorization from third-party payers.
- Develop financial plans for uninsured patients, securing payment or establishing payment plans.
- Collaborate with Medicaid screening and qualify patients for financial assistance.
- Calculate deductibles, co-payments, and cost estimates.
- Collect patient payments or co-payments at the time of the visit.
- Resolve billing issues by interpreting patient bills.
- Document accurate patient income or insurance and collection information in EPIC practice management system.
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- CPAR certification is optional.
- Minimum of two years of experience in financial counseling within a healthcare setting.
- Proficiency with computer systems, previous experience with EPIC EPM preferred.
- CPR certification required.
- Basic knowledge of third-party payer requirements and government programs.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Bilingual (Spanish proficiency in written and verbal communication preferred.
